Couchmans LLP are sports business lawyers serving a client base of acclaimed sports personalities. As well as serving their clients legal needs, Couchmans also offer coaching to budding football agents who need to take the FA's agents exam in order to represent professional football players.
What we did
Search Engine Optimisation
- Couchmans contacted Magnetic Works to resolve issues relating to the multiple domains they owned which all displaying the same content, and also to improve their main domain's rankings for "player agent exam" related terms.
- Having recently renamed themselves Couchamns LLP, the firm registered a new domain and wished to retire their old domain. The old domain ranked well for target keywords where as the new domain name was next to invisible in the search engine results pages.
- The domain names were hosted on different servers with the new domain name already being used for email services. This complicated matters as Couchmans stressed that their email service needed to remain live throughout any changes. Our initial solution involved making DNS amendments which definitely would have resulted in email downtime while the DNS propagated with the new settings.
- The answer was to use multiple server spaces to achieve search engine friendly domain redirection while also ensuring that the email services were uninterrupted.
- Within a month of implementing an SEO campaign, the new domain name ranked on the first page of Google for the target terms and the Couchmans web site now sits at no.1 for the main target keyword phrase.
