When we started work with I Can Teach, the site was completely static and any changes that were required could only be made by someone technically competent.
The team behind I Can Teach are themselves teachers and know the value of being able to easily access not only learning resources, but suitable classroom music to help learning. The project has been approached in phases, with further enhancements and changes planned for the near future.
I Can Teach had a long list of requirements to be implemented over the site, including the ability to:
- Manage all existing site content without redesigning the website;
- Register site visitors and make specific areas of the site restricted to logged in users;
- Manage advertisements and create 'featured resources';
- Collect statistics and audit trails from the behaviour of users
What we did
Web Development
- Took the existing design for I Can Teach's website and built it into a customised content management system
- Developed registration and login pages to collect details of the website's visitors and to control access to specific areas of the website
- Integrated functionality to manage advertisements and resources sitewide
- Developed audit trails to gather usage information based on user behaviour
Future Development
- Developing the site to cater for portable Internet devices, smartphones, etc;
- Allowing users to customise the appearance of their I Can Teach experience;
- Rebuilding the homepage
