"Web design has come along way since the 'hamster dance'..."
My first love was animation. I remember seeing Fantasia in the cinema and being completely blown away by the visual spectacle that was played out in front of my eyes. With my very rough sketches of Mickey and Pluto strewn around my bedroom floor in the Highlands of Scotland, I dreamt that one day I would be working for the likes of Walt Disney or Industrial Light and Magic!
Straight out of university I landed my first graphic design job and I have not stopped for breath since. After trying my hand at various design genres at college and university, the web emerged like a light in the fog (the Hamster Dance too - shhhh!), and I embraced this new and exciting digital platform with open arms. This was undoubtedly to be the channel to direct my creative juices and an opportunity to showcase my own visual spectacles.
Fast forward 25 (ah hem) or so years from that little girl's bedroom, I have now worked in the online creative sector for over 10 years. After all this time I still love the process of bringing an online vision to life and with the ever emerging tools, trends and platforms, I never tire of the job - it just makes me want for more and get better at what I do.
This really is a new and exciting chapter for all of us at Magnetic Works. It's great working with a vibrant and talented team of people that collectively aim to deliver a great service and develop effective working relationships with our clients with the added bonus of working in the wonderful city of Brighton!
